For more than 30 years, in business, community and government, Brad Butt has always worked to build stronger communities.


From May 2011 – October 2015, Brad served as the Member of Parliament for Mississauga-Streetsville.  During that time he focused his efforts on community building as a member of the Standing Committee on Human Resources, Skills & Social Development and Status of Persons with Disabilities.  He also was a member of the Select Committee on Cooperatives which studied the important role the cooperative sector plays in Canada.

Brad was a highly regarded community based MP in Mississauga, earning accolades from other elected officials, community agencies and business organizations.  He tackled many issues helping him gain a great knowledge of all three orders of government and how to get things done.

Prior to politics, Brad was the President & CEO of the Greater Toronto Apartment Association working for the interests of housing providers and residents.  His background and knowledge of the housing sector is unparalleled and he has worked on community engagement, affordable housing development, by-law and legislative change and review and projects like Streets to Homes, the Homeless Partnering Strategy (HPS) and with the Mental Health Commission of Canada’s At Home/Chez Soi program.

Brad was also a member of the City of Mississauga Committee of Adjustment from 2004-2011 adjudicating on applications for minor variances from the zoning by-law and consents to sever land.  He has a strong understanding of Official Plans, zoning by-laws, applications for land development and processing.

Community volunteer involvement has always been a core value for Brad.  He has served on dozens of boards and committees for over 30 years and received dozens of awards and recognitions for his service.  He was founding Chair of Safe City Mississauga, served on the Mississauga Food Bank, Mississauga Library Board, Mississauga Sports Council, Mississauga Arts Council, Peel Children’s Aid Society and Foundation, was the Peel Early Years Champion and produced and hosted tv shows on Rogers TV Peel for close to fifteen years.  Brad is also a proud Rotarian being a member of the Mississauga-Meadowvale Rotary Club.  He understands not-for-profit organizations and the challenges they face in their day to day operations.

Brad has always been active in politics and elections both as a candidate and organizer.  Through this he has gained an unparalleled understanding of municipal, provincial and federal government.  He can tackle any issue at any order of government.

A life-long resident of the City of Mississauga, Brad lives and works out of the Village of Streetsville and is available to work anywhere in Canada and also has significant international travel experience during his time as a federal Member of Parliament.
